Firefox Now Available on iOS

Published on November 19, 2015 by

Mozilla’s Firefox browser is finally available on iOS, meaning both iPhones and iPads. Firefox is a popular open source browser, although its usage has steadily declined for a number of years. Mozilla has never gotten a big hold of the smartphone market, something that Firefox OS was meant to change.

Now being available on iOS, Firefox’ presence on portable devices increases, as the browser has been available on the Android operating system for a number of years. The Firefox browser for iOS supports synchronization of browser data to and from iOS, including tabs, passwords and bookmarks.

Firefox has long been the preferred browser for users concerned with privacy, as the browser has a stronger focus on privacy than its counterparts. The mobile version of Firefox does indeed include a private browsing feature, which prevents tracking of the user as well as tracking cookies being left on visited websites.
